It was moved by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Ms. Hosterman, to adopt Resolution
No. 03-063, confirming the imposition of a lien on 4085 Peregrine Way for administrative
costs incurred with a nuisance abatement action.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Brozosky, Campbell, Hosterman, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Item 6h
PAP-49 (PDR-259, Verizon Wireless)
Appeal of the Zoning Administrator's approval of an application for design review to
construct one 60-foot tall monopole with three wireless communication antennas and
related equipment inside a storage building at 3470 Boulder Street. SR 03:135)

This item was discussed earlier in the agenda.

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

(1) Ms. Hosterman indicated she will be sharing her experiences from her visit to
Sacramento with the League of California Cities on a future agenda. She said she had attended
one event which was for "Leave Our Community Assets Local" and presented a button to each
Councilmember. She will have more details later.

(2) Asked for Council support to allow the community to have discussion regarding the
USA Patriot Act.

Ms. McKeehan indicated the Library Commission has this item on the agenda for its next
meeting. A staff report will be prepared regarding the impacts to the library and a copy of that
will be provided to Council.

Mr. Campbell suggested having the Council send a letter to Representatives Pombo,
Tauscher, and other Valley community members, to come to a community-wide discussion,
hosted by the City of Pleasanton. He felt something could be done on a larger scale than just a
Council agenda item.

Mr. Brozosky said a lot of people are interested in this. There is a room at the library
where a debate could be held. He did not think a Council meeting was the right forum for this.

Mayor Pico indicated the League of Women Voters is attempting to organize a forum.
He would like to see what happens at the Library Commission meeting and its recommendation,
before taking any action.

Pleasanton City Council 27 05/20/03
Minutes
