MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Town Crier Peter Davies called the Meeting Open to the Public. Mr. Davies and <br />his wife are from Annapolis Royale, Nova Scotia, population 600. The city was founded <br />in 1605 and will soon be celebrating its 400th Anniversary. The uniform Mr. Davies was <br />wearing was the uniform of a Sergeant of the 45th Annapolis Regiment, a garment that <br />would have been worn in 1765, except for the rifle and saber. Mr. Davies thanked the <br />City for the honor of being Pleasanton's Honorary Town Crier and asked Council to <br />consider choosing an Official Town Crier to represent the City. <br /> <br /> Gerjant Kosa, U. S. Postmaster for Pleasanton, thanked the Council for the <br />recognition on April 18, 2003 as Gerant Kosha Day in recognition of his appointment as <br />U. S. Postmaster of Pleasanton. He is looking forward to working with the community <br />and invited the community to be present for his installation as Postmaster. He presented <br />Caesar Chavez pins in recognition of the issuance of stamps bearing Mr. Chavez' picture. <br /> <br /> A spokesperson from Alameda County Mosquito and Vector Control accepted the <br />proclamation for Vector Control Week and asked residents to be aware of the West Nile <br />Virus dangers throughout Alameda County. He requested citizens to be alert to <br />conditions which may contribute to mosquito breeding conditions. <br /> <br /> Jerry Wagner, 6344 Alisal Street, expressed his concems about the contractors in <br />the Happy Valley Area using white 12 inch pipe for the construction in the area. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 3 04/15/03 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
