Ms. Hosterman said there are a number of cities that have an Energy Element in their
General Plans.

Mayor Pico said it could include creating alliances, setting priorities, increasing energy
supplies, advocacy, and basically adopting as policy the Energy Plan.

Ms. Ayala referred to the item on creating alliances and wanted to make certain that the
Youth Master Plan committee was involved if possible.

Mr. Campbell asked that the Committee be given the opportunity to modify the priorities
if they wish.

Ms. Hosterman accepted that so long as Council could review the changes.

It was moved by Ms. Hosterman, seconded by Ms. Ayala, to adopt Resolution No.
03-011, ratifying Council appointments of Jill Buck, Kevin Doyen, Jerry Thorne, Robert
Streich, and Oscar Soares to the existing fifteen member EAG; establishing the priorities
set forth in the staff report, with the opportunity for the Committee to modify the priorities
subject to Council review; and changing the name of the Energy Advisory Group to the
Pleasanton Energy Committee.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Brozosky, Campbell, Hosterman, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

Ms. Hosterman requested Council to take a position on the California Wild Heritage Act
of 2002 (Boxer) currently in the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. This
would preserve a number of acres in California and she would like to give copies of the bill to
staff and to put it on a future agenda.

There was consensus to place it on a future agenda.

CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR

No action was required or taken.

CLOSED SESSION

The closed session was held before the meeting.

Pleasanton City Council 27 02/18/03
Minutes
