MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL January 21, 2003 1. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:04 p.m. Councilmember Brozosky led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He indicated Ms. Hosterman and he had gone to Saeramento a few weeks ago and participated in a League of California Cities conference. It was an opportunity to interact with mayors and councilmembers from all over California and was a very informative event. He noted how well the "Community of Character" ideals work in Pleasanton. He was surprised at the number of cities that have police officers attending their meetings for crowd control. He thanked the community and the Mayor for reminding people at each meeting of the elements. He announced the Second Annual Poetry and Arts Festival on March 29, 2003. He noted registration for the event is due on February 1 for many of the categories. There are many workshops available for adults and youth. He urged people to participate in the event and gave the website for the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council. 2. ROLL CALL City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Couneilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer Hosterman, and Mayor Tom Pico. Staff members present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; Wayne Rasmussen, PrinCipal Planner; Robert Wilson, Director of Public Works; and James W. Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services. 3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Ms. McKeehan indicated a matter arose after the agenda had been posted and required action before the next regular meeting.
