MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />December 17, 2002 <br /> <br />6:30 CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Council met in dosed session to confer with legal counsel to discuss the claims of Helen <br />LaChapelle and Susan Morrison and to confer with legal counsel concerning potential litigation <br />against the City and County of San Francisco regarding the three-acre parcel located adjacent to <br />the City Library. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:00 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Hosteifnan led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She urged <br />people to shop in Pleasanton for the holidays. For those families who do not exchange gifts, she <br />encouraged them to participate in charitable organizations either by donating money or items or <br />by volunteering time. She gave several examples. She said global peace begins with each of us. <br />On behalf of Council and staff, she wished everyone a joyous holiday and happy new year. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers <br />present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer Hosterman, and Mayor Tom <br />Pico. Staff members present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager; Michael Roush, City <br />Attorney; Phillip Grubstick, Interim Director of Public Works-Engineering; Gail Gilpin, <br />Economic Development Manager; James W.
