The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico <br />NOES: Coun¢ilmember Ayala <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 6a(2) <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Dennis, seconded by Mr. Campbell, to adopt Resolution No. <br />02-112, authorizing the City Manager to execute a Memorandum of Understanding <br />between the City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton City Employees Association (PCEA); and to <br />adopt Resolution No. 02-113, setting compensation for management (including Livermore- <br />Pleasanton Fire Department management) and confidential employees of the City of <br />Pleasanton. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Campbell, Dennis, Michelotfi, and Mayor Pico <br />NOES: Councilmember Ayala <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala appreciated having this public discussion. She also wanted to discuss <br />Workers' Compensation issues and the sooner the better. She also liked the idea of posting the <br />total compensation package on the website and she also wanted that for the comparative cities. <br />She believed that even though there were seven closed sessions, the total discussion time was <br />only about 60 minutes. She concluded that she thought the Pleasanton staff was the best and this <br />was not about them, it was about fiscal responsibility. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti disagreed that only 60 minutes were spent on this and believed a lot more <br />time was spent by Council discussion the issues. <br /> <br />There was a break at 10:11 p.m. <br /> <br />The meeting reconvened at 10:20 pm. <br /> <br />Item 6b <br />Update on Community Preparedness and Disaster Response. (SR 02:225) <br /> <br />Fire Chief Stewart Gary presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis indicated she had received comments from citizens who participated in the <br />CERT program saying how valuable the training was. She felt more people would be interested <br />in the training if they knew about it and suggested that one of the teams give a presentation at a <br />Council meeting.
