Mary Roberts, P. O. Box 154, said Mr. Hahner has had years to resolve these differences.
To come at the last minute, knowing staffhas to meet with the CPUC on Thursday, is
unbelievable to her. Staff has worked very hard with the School District to get an agreement.
Two days will through the plan off and two weeks is impossible. She felt PG&E will go down
the old road and traffic from Ruby Hill will be impacted. She said Centex and Heinz
(Greenbriar) have had vesting tentative maps approved by the Planning Commission. She
believed these developers were ready to go forward. The economy is looking up and houses are
selling. She was certain the road would be built.

There were no further speakers.

Ms. Ayala wanted to make certain Mr. Hahner was aware that staffwould continue to
negotiate the issues within the parameters of the Specific Plan and to answer his questions. She
felt strongly the PG&E is proceeding with its transmission line and if the City does not take this
action, the line could be located in the old Vineyard. She definitely did not want that.

Mayor Pico believed Council needed to confirm the realigned Vineyard Avenue as the
best location with the least impact on the Hahner's.

It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Michelotti, to confirm the location of
the realigned Vineyard Avenue is the best location and would have the least impact on the
Hahners.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No.
02-088, determining that the public interest and necessity require the acquisition of certain
property and interest therein and directing the filing of eminent domain proceedings.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Ms. Dennis understood that Mr. Hahner was uncomfortable with this procedure.
However, Council must balance the interests of many people in the community. The road and
location of the power line is a very important issue for the community. She regretted there was
no time to completely address his concerns, but assured him staff would continue to work with
him.

Pleasanton City Council
Special Meeting Minutes

9 08/06/02
