Gerald Hedstrom, 4972 Mohr Avenue, also supported the theater. He is Vice President
of the Community Concert Band and was happy to see any renovation of the bandstand.

Julia Lewis, 233 Junipero Street, said she was in complete support of the black box
theater and art gallery. She also wanted to make certain the building was specifically for that
purpose and not used for a lot of other things. She said there was plenty of business for the
theater use. She said this was a wonderful plan.

Gillian R. Brimberry, 11868 Pollardstown Court, Dublin, supported the theater and
gallery. As a local performer, artist and patron of the arts, she felt this was extremely important,
not only for Pleasanton, but for the other communities. There are not many theaters in this area
and she strongly supported Pleasanton leading in that area, so it could be built up like Walnut
Creek. She also pointed out that this would not be a theater just for entertainment but also for
enlightenment, encouragement, and education for all citizens. We need this to show what a vital
community this is.

There were no further speakers, and the public hearing was closed.

It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Mr. Campbell, to adopt Resolution No.
02-085, approving the Downtown Parks and Trails Master Plan and designating the fire
station building to be used as a black box theater and gallery.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Dennis
ABSTAIN: None

Item 6d
PAP-32 (PUD-13), Russell and Betty. Moreira
Appeal of the Planning Commission's denial of an application for PUD development plan
approval to allow the subdivision of an approximately 2.23-acre site into four single-family
lots. The properW, is located at 558 Sycamore Road. (SR 02:152)

Brian Swirl presented the staff report.

Mr. Campbell asked for clarification of the acreage of each of the four proposed lots.

Mr. Swift said the lot fronting Sycamore with an agricultural designation is ~A of an acre,
the remaining three lots vary from 27,000 sq. ft. to 23,000 sq. ft., which is significantly larger
than the 15,000 sq. ft. minimum lot size specified for that low density residential portion of the
property.

Mr. Campbell asked if this would encourage other property owners to further subdivide
their properties.

Pleasanton City Council 19 07/16/02
Minutes
