Ms. Ayala reiterated the loss felt by his co-workers and family, but the biggest tribute she <br />could give was to relate the many, many phone calls she has received from citizens expressing <br />sadness at his passing. It is a huge tribute to him that he touched so many people. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell indicated he had not known Mr. Lum for long, but he especially <br />remembered his smile and ability to diffuse a lot of tension at meetings with that smile. He had a <br />gentle nature. Mr. Campbell extended his thoughts and prayers for his family. <br /> <br />Mayor Pico asked for a moment of silence in honor of Mr. Lum. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Item 5a, Review of Infrastructure Plan for Vineyard Corridor and Joint City/Pleasanton <br />Unified School District Financing Plan for Vineyard Avenue Infrastructure Improvements, was <br />continued to July 16, 2002. <br /> <br />4. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Lisa Adamos described the Commuter Choice Initiative program and recognized the City <br />of Pleasanton and ProBusiness as Commuter Choice Employers by the U.S.EPA and Department <br />of Transportation. <br /> <br /> Tom Smith requested that the City erect a memorial at the Happy Valley golf course <br />when it is constructed in honor of Randy Lum. <br /> <br /> Kurt Kummer, 4456 Clovewood Lane, indicated that because of the major involvement <br />of Mr. Lum with the golf course project, that the course be named after him. <br /> <br /> Steve Brozosky, 1700 Vineyard Avenue, indicated he will also miss Randy Lum and his <br />smile and thorough knowledge of issues. He commended ProBusiness for its support of Vintage <br />Hills Elementary and donation of computers. He inquired about the status of infrastructure for <br />the Vineyard Corridor, the PG&E transmission line and the acquisition of the necessary rights- <br />of-way. <br /> <br /> Ms. McKeehan indicated City staffwas working with the School District on two issues: <br />one was the share of expenses for the Vineyard Corridor infrastructure; the second was the <br />financing for the infrastructure. It was expected that the developers of the area would pay for the <br />infrastructure, but due to the economy that development has been delayed. Therefore, the <br />District and City have been discussing funding the infrastructure with reimbursement to come <br />later from the developers. Staff hopes to bring something before the Council at its next meeting. <br />The District staff expects to meet with the School Board soon. Staff continues to have <br />discussions with PG&E and it plans to begin construction on September 1, 2002. There are <br />development agreements with the developers in the area that include a provision that the City be <br />able to obtain the right-of-way for the transmission line.
