MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

Mayor Pien wanted to place a resolution on the next agenda to support the East Bay
Regional Park ballot measure. Council agreed.

Mayor Pico asked staff to initiate the renaming of Bradley Street near the Thoratec
offices in honor of Tom Barnett, who lost his lift on Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. This
street is between Stoneridge Drive and Johnson Drive, adjacent to the Thoratec building. It has
no businesses with addresses on the street and would not affect anyone.

Ms. Dennis asked that when notice is given to the area, that copies of letters of support be
in the public record and for the family.

Ms. Michelotti asked staff to inquire about the color change on the Mexico Lindo
restaurant. This was done without design review by the Bemal Corporate Park or the Planning
Department.

Mr. Roush indicated the Code Enforcement Officer is looking into the matter.

Mr. Campbell inquired about the two hour parking limit on Abbie Street. This impacts
the people who work in the School District office.

Ms. McKeehan said that is a major issue for the residents in that area. Staff will look at
the situation again.

Ms. Dennis indicated she had given the material from the Civic Entrepreneur Conference
to the City Manager and felt Council should review it to see what other communities are doing
and how some communities are recapturing ERAF funds.

Pleasanton City Council 22 01 / 15/02
Minutes
