Approved sending a Letter of Opposition to Assembly Bill 680 (Steinberg D- <br />Sacramento) concerning the reallocation of sales tax revenues. (SR 02:034) <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution No. 02-015, authorizing appropriation of up to $200,000 for the <br />CTV Channel 30 studio remodel project in cooperation with the Cities of Dublin, <br />Livermore and San Ramon. (SR 02:035) <br /> <br />Adopted Resolution No. 02-016, authorizing settlement of a pending workers' <br />compensation claim. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />Presentations <br /> <br /> DARE Officer David Batoy indicated the Program was started in 1989 and approximately <br />10,000 fifth and eighth grade students have participated. As part of the program, students write <br />essays about the program. He introduced the Program mascot, Daren the Lion, and Katie <br />Woolley and Lexi Baker, who read their essays. <br /> <br /> The following members of the Abbie 4-H Club described the organization, its goals, and <br />public service: Rachel Onojafe, President; Robin Brozosky; Vice President; Devon Ueda, <br />Corresponding Secretary; Richelle Brozosky; Jessica Jacobsen, Recording Secretary; Loft <br />Mullins, Historian. They presented a plaque and card to Council in appreciation for the City's <br />support of the organization. <br /> <br /> Lois Lutz, Chair of the South Livermore Valley Agricultural Land Trust, introduced a <br />new member of the Land Trust, Michael Princevalle, and John Norwood, Executive Director. <br />She briefly described the organization and presented the organizations accomplishments over the <br />last year and a half. Mr. Norwood then showed slides of the agricultural areas and various uses. <br /> <br />Other Speakers <br /> <br /> Jeff Renholts, 7489 Aster Court, requested that the new Bemal Avenue bridge at the <br />Arroyo de la Laguna look more like the existing bridge. He also said he liked the new color of <br />the Mexico Lindo Restaurant and felt that sometimes the Council micro-manages and colors <br />should be left to the owner's choice.
