6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS

Item 6b
Approval of Land Disposition Agreement with BridRe Housin~

This item was removed from the agenda by staff and continued to the meeting of
November 6, 2001.

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

Mr. Campbell indicated he had received a telephone call from a member of the Energy
Advisory Committee and there seems to be some confusion as to the purpose of the committee.
He asked that this item be brought back to Council for a discussion as to the exact role of the
group.

Ms. McKeehan indicated she had received a similar call and felt it was a matter of
priorities. She felt she could probably clear up the matter herself, but if necessary a report would
be brought back to Council.

Ms. Ayala suggested a workshop format may be helpful.

Mr. Campbell felt it would be better to just give the group direction from Council.

Ms. Michelotti wondered if a workshop with the Energy Advisory Committee would be
helpful rather than just receiving direction from Council.

Ms. McKeehan did not think the issue was as difficult as this discussion was making it.
She believed she could resolve the issues internally. If necessary the matter can be brought back
to Council.

Ms. Ayala referred to p~?evious comments about the MTBE situation and wondered why
the government is taking so long to get out of the gasoline.

Ms. Dennis indicated the County is already taking MTBE out of County gasoline
services. There was some suggestion there may be an ordinance or County ruling that would not
allow MTBE in tanks. The State ruling requires its removal within two years. It takes a while to
get a local regulation adopted, so the additive would probably be removed by that time anyway.

Ms. Ayala felt if local companies knew further action was being taken, it might spur them
to remove the additive faster.

CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR

No action was required.

Pleasanton City Council 4 10/16/01
Minutes
