Adopt Resolution No. 01-110, approving a grant application for urban recreational and <br />cultural centers, museums, and facilities for wildlife education or environmental <br />education program (URCC) grant funds for Alviso Adobe Historical Park under the Safe <br />Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000. <br />(SR 01:243) <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution No. 01-111, authorizing settlement authority for a pending workers' <br />compensation claim involving Sabrina Sams. (SR 01:250) <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, and Michelotti <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Pico <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro administered the oath of allegiance to the following newly <br />appointed commission and committee members. Housing Commissioners Kurt Weist and <br />Joseph Jones; Economic Vitality Committee members Jeffrey Schroeder and Rudy Xavier; <br />Youth Commissioner Clinton Johnson; Altamont Landfill Committees - Community Monitor <br />Committee, Mark Wilson; Education Account Advisory Board, Brian Bourg; and Open Space <br />Account Advisory Committee, Debra Rubin. <br /> <br /> Commemorative plaques were presented by Councilmember Campbell to retiring <br />Commission members Shelley Cartier and Joseph Jones. <br /> <br /> Ms. Cartier thanked the Council for the recognition and the opportunity to serve for three <br />and a half years on the Housing Commission. She was proud of the things that had been <br />accomplished and indicated although she is no longer on the Commission, she would continue to <br />follow its activities. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jones also appreciated the opportunity to serve on the Human Services Commission. <br />He had enjoyed the experience of making site visits and seeing what other agencies are doing <br />and how hard they are working for their communities. He liked having an opportunity to talk to <br />those being served and heating how their lives were being tremendously improved as a result of <br />the services they were receiving from the agencies the City is supporting. <br /> <br />5.
