Ms. McKeehan indicated she could get that information for him. She said the City's role <br />is to provide for the citizens in a variety of ways for many issues. There is a balance of what is <br />done and when. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala pointed out that when the State mandates actions, it is sometimes difficult to <br />accomplish immediately when funding is not provided. <br /> <br />There was general discussion about unfunded state mandates. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pico summarized that information would be provided by staff to Council <br />regarding the sidewalk program and compliance efforts. Similar concerns were raised a few <br />meetings ago about what the City is doing to provide for cultural arts. If the City added up all <br />the various programs and financial commitments it makes to improving accessibility, paratransit <br />programs, etc., one would find the City is making a significant expenditure in this area. He <br />suggested providing this information at the next budget cycle. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Ms. Ayala, to add the City of <br />Pleasanton's name to the "friend of the court" brief that is being prepared in support of the <br />City of Sacramento. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis referred to improvements being made to the transfer station for the <br />commercial recycling plan. She inquired if Council would be interested in having a <br />representative from Pleasanton Garbage Service come to a future Council meeting to present an <br />update.
