to reimburse the City for the cost of the Harris Associates' contract services for plan
checking the Tract 7240 (Hahner Property) Improvements. (SR 01:104)

5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The City Council presented a commendation to the Amador Valley High School Girls
Varsity Basketball Team for being the East Bay Athletic League Champions, North Coast
Section Division II Champions, and the Northern California Division II Champions. This is the
third consecutive year the Lady Dons have represented Northern California in the Division II
State Championship game. Head Coach Elizabeth Stanley introduced Assistant Coach Matt
McGrath and the following team members: Mia Fisher, Anne Lockyer, Angenina McCJrath,
Dominique Reed, Vanessa Rogers, Leela Stedt, and Marissa Wyatt.

Those team members unable to attend the meeting were: Assistant Coaches Corey
Edmiston and Doug VanderHorst and team members Jami Blue, Ghristina Gordet, Brea Kernan,
Stevie Keman, Ashley King-Bischof, Krystal Lagosh, Tessa Winter, and Emily Zimmerman.

Mia Fisher presented the Mayor with a team T-shirt.

Mr. Campbell indicated few people know how difficult it is to get to the championship.
At the end of the year, out of thousands of high schools, there are about twenty teams playing for
the championship. Of those, only two or three are from public high schools. Achieving this one
year is incredible, but doing it three consecutive years is amazing.

Other Speakers

Tim Meese, Executive Director of the Pleasanton Downtown Association, announced the
commencement of the Historic Walking Tour of the downtown area. He presented a brochure to
each Councilmember.

Mr. Campbell inquired if there would be any tours on the weekends.

Mr. Meese indicated a schedule was being formulated. They will have tours on a
quarterly basis and try to accommodate those who can only attend on a Saturday. It is possible a
tour would be held in conjunction with the Heritage Days event.

Peter Balas, 6614 Via San Blas, related an incident at the Pleasanton Sports Park on
April 23, 2001, which required a 911 emergency medical response. He felt that even though the
Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department has a dedicated and caring EMS team, it could still make
adjustments to maintain higher level of performance. He had some concerns about the conduct
of the private ambulance (AMR) response team. He also felt that more citizens need to be
trained in CPR and first aid. He presented numerous suggestions for improving emergency
response.

Pleasanton City Council 3 05/08/01
Minutes
