PUBLIC HEARING AND OTHER MATTERS

Item 6a
PUD-4~ South Front Investors LLC
Application for Planned Unit Development (PUD) development plan approval to
construct an approximately 17,545 sq. ft., two-story office building to be located at
6088 Sunol Boulevard (southeast corner of Sunol Boulevard and Sycamore Road).
Zoning for the property is PUD-O (Office). (SR 01:032)

Brian Swirl presented the staff report.

Ms. Dennis referred to the replacement fence at Val Vista Park and asked how the
cost was allocated.

Ms. McKeehan indicated the City paid for a portion of the fence because it was a
public park project. The balance of the fence was paid for by the homeowners.

Mr. Campbell asked the purpose of the fence.

Mr. Swirl replied that it is to discourage people from parking on Diamond Court
and cutting through the landscaped area to get to the office. It is not necessary to have a
tall fence and the applicant has agreed to build a fence in that location.

Ms. Michelotti asked if the fence was part of the original plan and if there was
any discussion about a berm in that location. Would there be a berm and fence.'?

Mr. Swirl said the original submittal proposed leaving the original fence in place
with landscaping behind it. However, the original fence is not as attractive as the
building and landscaping will be. It was a property line fence and is not relevant to this
application. The fence could be anywhere in relation to the berm and an open wrought
iron fence would fit anywhere in the landscaped area.

Ms. Ayala referred to Danbury Park at Santa Rita and Valley Avenue and asked if
the proposed fence/berm is comparable to that.

Pleasanton City Council 3 02/20/01
Minutes
