It was moved by Mr. Tarver, seconded by Mr. Pico, to direct staff to bring
back to Council as much informotion as possible in order to discuss at the 12/05/00
meeting and engage the community in a public hearing discussing the LAVWMA
pipeline expansion and RO injection.

The roll call vote is as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Pico, and Mayor Tarver
NOES: Councilmember Michelotti
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None

Mayor Tarver asked for direction with the Bernal Avenue Community Park
Master Plan Task Force. He said he was going to make more than one recommendation
for his appointment. If this is not the Council's pleasure, he would like to know this, so
he can make the appropriate appointment number(s). He has some extremely qualified
candidates.

Ms. Acosta said that the expansion of committees was at the discretion of Council
and that staff would give its best advice as to what size is preferred. A balance is
advisable in committees of any size, with "at large" numbers representing people without
any ties to any group on the committee.

A~er a short discussion, Mr. Tarver said he would make three appointment
recommendations for "at large" members on the Task Force and it would then be up to
the Council whether to ratify the appointments.

8.
