(SR00:254)

Michael Roush presented the staff report.

Ms. Dennis inquired about some property that the tenants had left in the arts and
eral°ts room.

Mr. Roush indicated that could be restored with no problem if the tenants want
that. There arc some tools in them now, but those could be relocatcd.

Mayor Tarver asked for clarification of the mm increases since 1997.

Irk. Roush presented an example of a space rent at $400 per month as of
January 1, 1997. Assume further that rent was raised 5% in 1998, 1999 and 2000, due to
the cost of living. If that unit were sold to a new tenant in February of 2000, the owner of
Ihe park could raise the space rent by $100 (25% of $400) in addition to the 5% increases
for 1998, 1999 and 2000. The rent would now be $500 plus those cost of living
increases. Under the current agreement, the park owner is allowed to do that.

Ms. Michelotti asked if the transfer of ownership increases had not been imposed
when the unit sold, could the current park owner impose them retmactively?

Pleasanton City Council 5 09/19/00
Minutes
