MEETING OPEN TO TIIE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Fire Chief Stewart Gary accepted, on behalf of the City, a donation of $7,750 <br />t~om the Pleasanton-Livermom Junior Women's Club to assist in the pumhase of a <br />thermal camera. <br /> <br /> Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muirwood Drive, felt that the Council should keep its word <br />and allow a public vote on the uses for the Bemal Avenue property. <br /> <br /> Joseph Rttsso, 6772 Paseo San Leon, expressed his concerns about the large <br />number of people using the ACE train. He addressed the lack of transportation provided <br />within the City to the ACE station and urged WHEELS to improve its service to the <br />proposed Bemal Avenue property future users. He felt that if there were earlier bus <br />service provided for the 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. trains, then the traltic congestion that <br />happens because of the school traffic could be avoided. <br /> <br /> Les Layerl 483 Adams Way, stated his concerns about historic preservation and <br />asked Council to direct staff to initiate the preparation of a draft ordinance to allow the <br />utilization of the State Historic Building Code for buildings exceeding 50 years of age. <br />According to the State Historic Building Code. the houses on the City's current inventory <br />list qualify.
