The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers -Ayala, Dc~mis, Michelolti, Pioo, and Mayor Tarver
NOES: None
ABSENT: Nonc
ABSTAIN: None

5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBI~IC

Police Chief Tim Neal described the incident which occurred on July 20, 2000
and Ms. Dennis presented commendations to Mark Kopechny and Jon Blanchard. Ms.
Holcomb and Ms. Flares were unable to attend the meeting. Mr. Kopechny and Mr.
Blanchad expressed their appreciation for the commendation.

Other Speakers

Tanya Morgan, 3865 Hot Springs Court, explahaed the problems she and her
neighbors are having with a motorhome that is being parked in their Court. Even though
there is room to park the vehicle off the strcct, the owners of the motorhome do not park
in front of their own house or on their own property. The police department has indicated
the vehicle can be parked on the street so long as it is moved every 72 hours. She
expressed concerns about the safety of the children who play in the Court. The
motorhome has been there for lbur weeks.

Ms. Michelotti asked if anyone had talked to the motorhome owner.

Ms. Morgan said they had done so with no success.

Mayor Tarver indicated this issue has come before Council before and the only
way to solve this would be lbr the Cit~ to adopt an ordinance regarding the parking of
recreational vehicles on the street. It is unfortunate the owner of the motorhome has no
consideration for the neighbors.

Ms. Morgan indicated the cities of Dublin and Livemore have ordinances that
prevent motorhomes' parking like this.

Ms. Michelotli indicated she was willing to consider an ordinance to prevent this
reoccurring problem.

Mr. Roush indicated Council had considered this issue five or six years ago, but
did not adopt an ordinance.

Mr. Fialho suggested that hel Ms. Acosta and ChiefNeal work to resolve this
issue and Council can consider whether it needs to take action city-wide in the future.

Pleasanton City Council 3 08/15/00
Minutes
