9, CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR Ms. A~osta reminded Council that the~e will be a Special Joint City Council/School Board meeting on July 13, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Taroar pointed out that the July 21, 1993 LAVWMA meeting was moved to July 28, 1993. Mayor Tarvet also noted that the Mayor's Conference is July 7, 1993 at the Fairgrounds. Ms. Aoosta explained the activities that are held at the Mayor's Conference. In response to Mr. Pice questions, Mr. Swift reiterated process that would be used for Hacienda Business Park project (outside consultant). There was considerable discussion on the professional independent consultants, conflict of interests, and local and out of town consultants services. Ms. Acesha confirmed that any local architect could be used for consultant services if heYshe agreed not to do busthess in ph.~anton. Ms. Mohr felt that die description regarding local architects needed to be clarified. Mr. Swift explained that staff was hoping that two or three individuals be retained by the City for design consultation. It wa~ moved by Ms. Mohx to dh'eet staff to prepare a draft ordinance for review by the pia.nning Commission and City Council which would modify tho design review process to include informal review by design professionals acting as consultants to staff; and to oontaet non- local architects and landscape architects to be retained by the City for design consultation for sensitive or conRovessiel projects and m contact architects/landscape architects who would agree to voluntear their design review services for less complex projects. 151 07106193 11
