Mr. Lum explained that recent residential developments west of the hill have been conditioned to form a geologic hazard abatement district in order to provide for annual inspections of the hillside, geologic reports and to enable any repairs to be made through an established mechanism. It is to protect the homeowners and assure that there are no problems with the slope. He was happy to discuss the matter further with Mr. Russo. Ms. Michelotti also pointed out that portions of the development are on the upper slope area. Anything that occurs in that area could affect the properties on the flat area. Mr. Russo asked if the flat areas would still be included in the GHAD if the upper area is never developed. Mr. Lum said there was a lot of open space that is not part of potential funtin development which is still at risk for ground movement and the CHAD helps manage that risk and protect the property. It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 00- 085, declaring the Board's intention to approve assessments within the Oak Tree Farms (Tract 6563 and Tract 6748) Geologic Hazard Abatement District; to adopt Resolution No. 00-086, declaring the Board's intention to approve assessments within the Moller Ranch (Tract 6618) Geologic Hazard Abatement District; adopting Resolution No. 00-087, declaring the Board's intention to approve assessments within the Laurel Creek (The Preserve) Tracts 6400 and 6590 Geologic Hazard Abatement District.
