Ken Sanchez, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, 2800 Cottage Way #W2605, Sacramento, indicated the golf come is still going through the compliance process and he was available to answer questions from Council. Ms. Michelotti asked how long it will take for U.S. Fish and Wildlife to respond to the documents that have been submitted. Mr. Sanchez indicated the City has proposed off-site mitigations and the department is reviewing them. If sufficient measures have been proposed, then it could take about 135 days to prepare a biological opinion. Mayor Tarver asked if the proposed mitigation measures were found to be insufficient, would Fish and Wildlife specify point by point what the insufficiencies were. Mr. Sanchez indicated the agency' s role was to provide guidance and help proponents identify sufficient measures to offset the iarpacts that would occur to endax~gcred species. Michalotti asked for a brief report on what staff has done recently. Mr. Lum said staff had recently completed extensive rcvisior~ to the submittal to the various agencies and is awaiting responses as to the sufficiency of the documents.
