Mary Garcia, 251 Kottinger Drive #24, related incidents involving some of her <br />acquaintances and the difficulty to cross this intersection. She thanked Council for trying <br />to remedy the situation. <br /> <br /> Pat Murray, 4470 Mirador Drive, referred to the fight turn lane at First and Ray <br />Streets and indicated people do not pay atlention to pedestrians when turning. She then <br />asked that the signal at First and Kottinger have an extended time for seniors to cross the <br />street. She asked Council to raise this signal in the budget priority and install h as soon <br />as possible. <br /> <br /> Pare Osnaya, 4304 Second Street, supported installation of the traffic signal at <br />First and Kottinger. She related the dangerous situations she has seen at this intersection. <br />She referred to a proposal to narrow Second Street because of traffic problems and she <br />did not think that would be necessary if the signal is installed at First and Kotlinger. She <br />was not in favor of narrowlng Second Street. The residents love it as it is. The street was <br />built as wide as it is because of the wagons coming to the train station. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver indicated cards were turned in l~om Randi Fanene and Jack Dove <br />who were in support of the signal but did not want to speak. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lure explained that staff had been meeting with some of the neighborhoods <br />including Second Street to determine what is preferred for the width of streets and the <br />residents of Second Street have indicated they want the wider street. Staff is still in the <br />dcsigo stagc for repaying. <br /> <br /> Stacey Ristow, 286 Kottinger Drive, support the traffic signal at First and <br />Kottinger. She was concerned about possible increase of traffic on Kottinger, but thought <br />thc situation could be addressed in the future with possible stop sigmas. <br /> <br />'there were no further speakers. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Michelotfi, seconded by Mayor Tarver, to add a traffic <br />signal at First Street and Kottinger Drive to the list of citywide priority locations for <br />new traffic signals and to include the new traffic signal at First Street and Kottinger <br />Drive for funding consideration in the next CIP budget review. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarvet <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 14 05/16/00 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
