Ms. Acosta referred to the comer at the bank building and indicated the there is a <br />temporary traffic signal, signal box and power pole. All those will be removed and the <br />comer will be clear. <br /> <br /> Mr. Churka said the transportation corridor has been preserved and he urged <br />Council to keep the corridor open. He felt Alameda County was contemplating selling <br />the corridor and felt that would be a great loss as it could be needed for mass transit in the <br />future. <br /> <br />6. That has been a community goal for a long time. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico indicated the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority would <br />provide special buses for a classroom to go to a destination within the community, which <br />would assist classes going to the library. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver enjoyed hearing the report and appreciated the creative approaches <br />to new programs. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis appreciated the review of the bookmobile program and agreed more <br />could be done with the funding to reach more people. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked for a review of what can be done on the library' s website. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dancy said people can go into the library catalogue, place a hold on a book, <br />and once the books by mail service is in place, the book could actually be delivered to the <br />home. People can check their personal records for books on hold or what is checked out <br />or overdue. There are also on-line databases available for review.
