MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />April 4, 2000 <br /> <br />6:00 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> A closed session was held to confer with Real Property Negotiator, Deborah <br />Acosta, regarding potential purchase of property for a proposed golf course and potential <br />purchase of the San Francisco Bernal Avenue property. Council conferred with legal <br />counsel regarding potential litigation concerning groundwater rights and related issues. <br />Council conferred with Labor Negotiator Deborah Acosta regarding the Management <br />Compensation Plan. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tarver at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Ayala led the assembly in the pledge ofallegiance. She <br />announced that the School District in conjunction with the City had arranged for Michael <br />Pritchard, a former juvenile probation officer, to speak to students at Foothill High <br />School and Amador Valley High School on cultivating a community of character. The <br />same presentation was made to parents on April 3. The presentation will be broadcast on <br />Channel 28 on Wednesday, April 5 at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday April 9 at 9:00 a.m. She <br />urged parents and students to listen to this presentation. She reminded the audience that <br />this is earthquake preparedness month and also urged people to return their census forms <br />if they have not yet done that. She also announced this is Poetry Month. <br /> <br />2. ROLLCALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Thomas P. <br />Pico, Jr. and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were Deborah Acosta, City <br />Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of planning and <br />Community Development; Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works; Gary Smith, <br />Director of Building Inspection; Billie Dancy, Director of Library Services; James W. <br />Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services; Bill van Gelder, Traffic Engineer; <br />Stewart Gary, Fire Chief; and Nelson Fialho, Deputy City Manager. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 04/04/00 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
