Ms. Dennis said for the most part it has been clear where we are going and the City
is meeting its diversion goals. The other thing she wanted to mention is that at the last
Planning Commission meeting, Matt Sullivan was interested in having someone make a
presentation about green building techniques. She stated the person to talk to about that at
the Waste Management Authority is Wendy Summer. She puts on the Green Building
Conference every year in Alameda County and she encouraged staff to inquire when the
next one is scheduled and the Planning Commissioners could go and meet the architects and
people in the building industry who are interested in those techniques.

Ms. Acosta said staff is trying to agendize this as soon as possible, but the next two
meetings are very full. She asked if there were a timing requirement for the Authority.

Ms. Dennis was not aware of one, but the Recycling Board has an issue that needs to
be resolved soon.

Ms. Michelotti thanked Gary Smith, Randy Lum and other staff members who
helped get the St. Elizabeth Seton church open on March 5.

CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR

No action was required or taken on this item.

9.
