Accept public improvements for resurfacing of various City streets, authorize the
City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project; authorize final
payment to Granite Construction Co., in the amount of $57.60; and authorize
payment of the retention in the amount of $52,968.68 to Granite Construction Co.
thirty days after filing the Notice of Completion. (SR 94:397)

j ,

Approve participation in amicus brief concerning indemnification of public
employees. (SR 94:393)

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Mohr
ABSTAIN: None

5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Paul Corrado, 1519 Fairview Court, congratulated the newly elected officials and
especially those candidates who took the time and effort to run for office. He strongly urged
PG&E to replace the thirty year old transformers in Pleasanton Valley. He thanked Mr. Lum
for his letter indicating there are local facilities for oil recycling. He expressed his belief about
the importance of sustainable development in the General Plan for the next 5-20 years. There
must be equal weight placed on the economics and the environment. He again indicated the San
Francisco property is a unique resource and suggested its use as a major corporate headquarters
center. He then expressed concern about the curing down of redwood trees adjacent to the
former Sprouse Reitz building at Santa Rita and Valley. He then referred to trees along Santa
Rim Road, north of Old Santa Rita and south of the Boston Chicken store. The trees have guy
wires that are choking the trees and could cause the trees to die. Finally, he was pleased with
the new "blue bag" recycling program. He commended Mr. Lum and city staff.

Domta Fortnet, 2504 Superior Drive, Livermore, representing Friends of the Vineyard,
objected to any changes in the agreement between Ruby Hill, the County, Livermore and
Pleasanton. She urged Council to agendize the matter in January.

Mr. Tarver asked that representatives from the City of Livermore and the Land Trust
review the matter and assist Council in its decision-making.

Ben Felix, 2860 Garden Creek Circle, encouraged participation in the Marine Corps
"Toys for Tots" program and indicated he would be available to attend social gatherings to
collect toys.

12/06/94
- 4 -
