Angela, was opposed to giving more money to the <br />government. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis, Mr. Pico and Mayor Tarver spoke in support of this measure. It will <br />increase the hours of the library by about a thousand a year for a small investment of $30 per <br />household. This approach makes the service more accountable. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, seconded by Ms. Mohr, to adopt Resolution No. 94-130, <br />supporting Measure V. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />There was a break at 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The meeting was reconvened at 9:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Item 10a(1) <br />Overview of the Downtown Project (SR 94:364) <br /> <br />Brian Swift presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Mr. Tarver asked if the proposed ordinance will deal with cleaning the sidewalks. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift indicated tilere are two issues: timre is a contract for steam cleaning the <br />sidewalks, but the proposed ordinance would deal with maintenance paid for by downtown <br />tenants or property owners to accomplish a different aspect of that goal. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta indicated the City proposes to steam clean the sidewalks before Thanksgiving <br />and determine how often it is necessary afterwards.
