Televised Council Meetings

Mr. Pico indicated his belief that televising the Council meetings has been very
successful. He also thought that it was useful for the candidates to have the opportunity to speak
before the public and express their viewpoints. He again urged people to vote.

Speaker time limits

Ms. Mohr indicated she had received calls from people who indicated the previous
speakers had taken so long, they had not been able to stay for the items that followed. Ms.
Mohr stated there is a five minute time limit for general speakers. The policy has not been to
cut off speakers, however by letting people who appear earlier on the agenda have all the time
they want to speak, it penalizes the people later on the agenda. She suggested a time limit for
the applicant of the issue before Council. She suggested if the applicant needs more than five
or ten minutes to present their points, that the balance of the information be presented to Council
in writing before the meeting. Ms. Mohr felt badly that some people felt they had lost their
right to speak and urged Council to revisit the problem.

CVB Award

Mr. Tarver announced the Convention and Visitors Bureau had won an award for the
video it produced and congratulated the persons who worked on the video.

Employee appreciation

Mr. Tarver expressed his appreciation for all the hard work and dedication of the City
staff for providing services to the community on a restricted budget.

9.
