MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Paul Corado, 1519 Fairview Court. addressed Council with his concerns on the follawing
subjects: 1) PG&E transformer preventative maintenance in the Pleasanton Valley area; 2) the
need for a free and accessible oil recycling center in Pleasanton; 3) pigeons on the Ple~q.~_nton
sign on Main Street; 4) damage to sidewalks from street trees, especially mulberry and carob,
(he suggested fixing sidewalks and changing the trees or giving the homeowners the option of
keeping the tree and committing to regular sidewalk repair); 5) sustainable development in
Pleasanton which meets the needs of the present without cornpromising the future generations
to meet their own needs; and 6) the San Francisco property. Mr. Corado suggested the site
would be a good location for the world headquarters of a major corporation. He was opposed
to more houses along the freeway because of the pollution.

Mr. Tarver thought that PG&E had done a survey of potential PCP problems and
indicated staff would contact PG&E for further information.

Ms. Acosta indicated Council had approve& application for a grant for oil recycling and
a project will be coming before Council in a couple of months. She also indicated staff is aware
of and working on the pigeon and tree/sidewalk problems.

Ms. Mohr pointed that about six or eight years ago, PG&E had proposed removing some
mulberry trees because the trees were interfering with the wires. The neighborhood protested
strongly at having the trees removed.

10/18/94
- 3 -
