MINUTES
OF
THE
MEETING
OF
THE CITY COUNCIL

October 26, 1999

1. CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tarver at 7:00 p.m.

Councilmember Michelotti led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. Ms.
Michelotti indicated she had been away for many weeks and she has not had the
opportunity to participate in some of the election forums as other Councilmembers have.
She indicated she opposed Measure D. She has been involved in General Plan reviews
and the planning process for about 18 years and objected to the fact that with one vote,
the citizens are being asked to dramatically change Pleasanton's award winning General
Plan. She asked people to carefully read the voters' pamphlet and be aware of the
changes to the General Plan. In the past, it has taken years and much public input to
change a General Plan. She urged people to vote on November 2.

2. ROLLCALL

City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows:
Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Thomas P.
Pico, Jr., and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were Deborah Acosta, City
Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and
Community Development; Randall A. Lure, Director of Public Works; Dave Iremonger,
Treasurery Supervisor; and Timothy Neal, Chief of Police.

3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS

Ms. Acosta indicated Item 6b, regarding the financing plan for the Vineyard
Avenue Corridor infrastructure, has been continued to November 2, 1999.

She reminded Council of the addenda to the agenda, adding items 4d through 4i,
which are the items carried over from the last agenda; and an addendum adding a closed
session to discuss the potential purchase of the San Francisco Bernal property.

She also indicated there was an addendum, subject to ratification by Council,
regarding a report from the Congestion Management Agency representative.

Pleasanton City Council 1
Minutes

10/26/99
