It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Mr. Pico, to adopt Resolution No. <br />99-134, determining that the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition of <br />municipal improvements and their financing through the issuance of general <br />obligation bonds; to introduce Ordinance No. 1801, to be read by title only and <br />waiving further reading thereof, ordering the submission of a proposition of <br />incurring bonded debt for the purpose of the acquisition of certain municipal <br />improvements to the qualified voters of the City of Pleasanton at a Special Election <br />to be held for that purpose; to direct staff to take appropriate steps to entitle for <br />residential development the portion of the property that is east of the Union Pacific <br />Railroad tracks and south of Junipero Drive, the so called "eastern parcel"; to <br />direct staff to take appropriate steps to entitle for commercial development a <br />portion of the "central parcel"; to continue the process to explore the potential uses <br />of the property that Pleasanton would purchase; and to take additional public input <br />on this subject matter on December 7, 1999 at which time a final decision would be <br />made as to whether to place this bond measure on the March 2000 ballot and what <br />the final ballot language would be. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers- Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> <br />There were no matters initiated. <br /> <br />8. COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> <br />9. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />The closed session was held earlier in the meeting. <br /> <br />10.
