MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />December 7, 1999 <br /> <br />6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> A closed session was held to confer with legal counsel regarding potential <br />litigation against Alameda County concerning its certification of an EIR and its approval <br />of a specific land plan and related land use entitlements for the San Francisco Water <br />Department's Bernal Avenue Property. Council conferred in closed session with <br />Deborah Acosta, Real Property Negotiator, regarding potential purchase of the San <br />Francisco Bernal Avenue property. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tarver at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She then wished a <br />happy 81st birthday to the City Manager's father, Elmer Steman. She expressed her <br />appreciation for the efforts of the fire fighters and paramedics who assisted her son last <br />week. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Thomas P. <br />Pico, Jr., and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were Deborah Acosta, City <br />Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works; Gail Gilpin; <br />Economic Development Manager; Tim Neal, Police Chief; Susan Rossi, Director of <br />Finance; James W. Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services; and David <br />Iremonger, Treasury Manager. <br /> <br />3.
