Ms. Dennis felt that would be important information for the group to have. <br />Sometimes the people willing to dedicate their time to a committee may not have much in <br />common with the voters, and it is important to know what the people are thinking. Some <br />would not give their time, but they will vote. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver made some scoping suggestions; negotiate the possibilities, the <br />prices, financing alternatives, land use options, then survey of the options. <br /> <br />Ms. Michelotti asked if morticians were on the list. <br /> <br />Ms. Dennis suggested golf course operators. <br /> <br />Mayor Tarver hoped that the committee could be operational before December. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta referred to the tasks of the committee and the reference to <br />negotiations. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver clarified staff was to negotiate with San Francisco and share that <br />information with the committee. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti inquired about participation by the general public and asked if <br />there would be noticed committee meetings or would there be one large televised meeting <br />to start with? <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala felt the committee should decide. The public is always welcome to <br />attend meetings. She also supported the Council appointment of citizens at large. <br /> <br />Ms. Acosta indicated staff had envisioned having community forums. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver then reiterated the committee membership: 5 citizens at large <br />appointed by Councilmembers; 2 churches and cemeteries; 1 Alameda County; 1 ACE <br />Advisory Board; I Castlewood; 1 Zone 7; 2 Pleasanton Downtown Association; 2 <br />childcare. <br /> <br />Ms. Ayala asked why two from the Downtown Association. <br /> <br />Mayor Tarver said to get more input, but it could be changed to one if desired. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti inquired about representation from the neighborhoods surrounding <br />the San Francisco property. <br /> <br />Mayor Tarver said they would participate in the forums and meetings, but a <br />committee member could be added. He proceeded with his list: School Board 2; Council <br />2; Chamber of Commerce 2; Tri-Valley Business Council 2; sports groups 2; childcare 2. <br />Childcare Links could be used as the appointing body.
