Mr. Fales stated that he had a request from the City Employees Association to conduct a Kangaroo Court during the Fiesta 75 Celebration and also to proclaim June 20-29, 1969, as Fiesta Week. It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that the May~r be authorized to proclaim June 20th-29th, 1969, as "Fiesta Week". Angel. a~ Pleasantog, Re: '~Gary Meye_Er Memorial Park" Mr. Fales read the letter from Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meyer, thanking the City Council and the Recreation and Park Commission for the "Gary Meyer Memorial Grovel'. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS Councilman Spiliotopoulos asked the City staff to investigate the feasibility of electing a mayor and what procedure would have to be taken. The City Attorney stated he would investigate this matter and report back to the Council. Councilman Rega asked the City staff when the ordinance regulating the speed of trains traveling through the City would be ready for discussion. Mr. Fales advised him that it would be available at the Council meeting of June 23rd. Councilman Rega also asked Mr. Fales to investigate two Federal Bills per- taining to safety of trains. Councilman Beratlis asked Mr. Fales to try to set up a Fair-Liaison meeting prior to the opening of the Fair. Mr. Fales stated that he would arrange this meeting. Councilman Beratlis also asked if something could be done about the litter in back of the stores in the Pleasant Plaza. Mr. Fales stated he would have the occupants of the stores informed of this matter. Councilman Reid suggested that the Study Session on the 1969-70 Budget be set. It was decided to hold this study session at 2:00 P.M., on June 24, 1969. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC No one addressed the Chair. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business at 9:30 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on June 23, 1969.
