Commissiou~ Re: Recommendation to name a portion of Kottinger Park Central, "Gary Meyer's Memgria~...Gr~ve" WilliamHerlihy, Acting Chairman of the Recreation and Park Commission, read that Commissiou's Resolution No. R-69-11, recommending to the City Council that the area ou the northeast corner of Kottiuger Park Central, west of Pico Avenue, be named the "Gary Meyer's Memorial Grove". Mr. Herlihy explained that the American Legion Post No. 237 w~ll erect a plaque of solid bronze, 18"x24", set in natural stone or brick in a concrete base, with an appropriate inscription for Gary Meyer, leaving room for additional name plates for any other servicemen from Pleasantou So give their lives iu Vietnam, Mr. Herlihy also stated that a grove of redwood trees will be planted iu the immediate vicinity of the plaque. It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Reid that Resolution No. 69-95, approving the area on the northeast corner of Kottinger Park Central, west of Pico Avenue, be named the "Gary Meyer's Memorial Grove", be adopted· The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton NOES: None ABSENT: None REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER Review of bids; Award of Contract, Adams Court Extension Mr. Fales announced that bids on the Adams Court Extension had been opened this date and recommended that the contract be awarded to A. Teichert & Sons, in the amount of $8,888.00. It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that Resoh,- tion No. 69-96, awarding the contract for the Adams Court Extension project to A. Teichert & Sons for $8,888.00, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton NOES: None ABSENT: None Matters for the information of the Council Mr. Fales announced that the telegram which the Council asked to be sent to Senator Dolwig supporting AB 61 had been sent. Mr. Fales stated that he had received a letter dated April 28, 1969, from V.C.S.D. Board of Directors advising the City of Pleasanton of a notice of in- crease from $145.00 to $175.00 for connection fees on each individual unit, to be effective May 15, 1969. Mr. Fales advised the Council that he will schedule a meeting with Mr. Ryan within the next two weeks to discuss the reason for this increase.
