Adoption of Ordinance No. 552. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote w~,~.as fo.!!o~s: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> Request of T@le-Vu~.Systems~.Inc..~ ~or an increase in the monthly subscription <br /> rate for all new customers from.$5.O0 per month to $6.50 per month <br /> Mayor Gerton declared the Public Hearing on the rate increase requested by <br />Tele-Vue Systems, Incorporated, open. <br /> Mr. Keith Fraser, Attorney representing Tele-Vue Systems, reviewed the rate <br />increase proposals and stated that the proposal increasing the charge from $5.00 <br />to $6.50 per month for all subscribers would end the Company's losses earlier and <br />would result in an increase of their return to 4.90% during the 1972-73 year. <br /> Mr. Mirth Garner stated that he had a petition signed by over 100 people that <br />were dissatisfied with the present service of Tele-Vue Systems. <br /> Otto Lierman, Harold Gregerson, Paul Loretz, Jack Winget, David Kissel, Claude <br />Trusty, Lowell Wendell, E. D. George, Steven Smith, Dan Estorga, Trevor Logett, <br />Randall Hoffman, Pearl Calver, Joyce and Bill Hostetter, Kenneth Bailey, Tucker <br />Hoffman and Howard Rivier were some of the members of the audience that protested <br />the proposed rate increase. The inconsistency in the application of installation <br />charges and the low level of service were the most common complaints. <br /> After considerable discussion regarding these complaints, it was moved by <br />Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the Public <br />Hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> There was considerable discussion by the Council regarding the fair rate of <br />return to the Tele-Vue Systems, the amount of the franchise payment to the City <br />and the current level of service. <br /> The City Council referred this matter back to the staff for their considera- <br />tion and subsequent recommendations to the Council on June 9, 1969. <br /> <br />Mayor Getton recessed the meeting at 10:40 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton reconvened the meeting at 10:55 P.M. <br /> <br />Establishment of Underground Wti.~.ity District No. 69-1 (continuation of the under- <br />g.~ound street lighting project in the downtown area) <br /> Mayor Getton declared the Public Hearing open. <br /> Mr. Fales read his report, dated May 1, 1969, in which he recommended that a <br />resolution establishing this district, be adopted. <br /> There being no public protest, it was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and <br />seconded by Councilman Rega that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call.vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />that Resolution No. 69-94, Establishing Underground Utility District No. 69-1, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> <br />
