<br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FLAG
<br /> Mayor Bernard Getton called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order
<br />at 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
<br />
<br />ROLL CALL
<br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows:
<br />Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton were present. Council-
<br />man Rega was absent. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager,
<br />Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and Mr. Castro,
<br />Director of Planning, were present.

<br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS
<br /> There were no amendments to the agenda.
<br />
<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis
<br />that the following items on the Consent Calendar be approved:
<br />
<br />1. Waiving the reading of Ordinance No. 551, amending Ordinance No. 520, Section
<br /> 22.104, Title Section, and Section 22.104a, by adding the words "or sign" in
<br /> the Title Section after the word "structure", and the words "or in the case
<br /> of signs with any of the requirements of Article 17 hereof;' after the words
<br /> ~'in which the structure is located..." in Section 22.104a.
<br />
<br />2. Adoption of Ordinance No. 551.
<br />
<br />3. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-69, authorizing Progress Payment No. 6, in the
<br /> amcunt of $19,379.43 to Western Empire Construction Company for the remodeling
<br /> and expansion of the Pleasanton Main Fire Station.
<br />
<br />4. Approval of the City Council Minutes of March 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, 1969.
<br />
<br />The roll call vote was as follows:

<br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS
<br />Adoption of a Proposed Ordinance Regulating Card Rooms, Card Tables, and the use
<br />thereof for Gambling
<br /> Mr. Raymond Baker, representing Mr. & Mrs. Shaw, owners of the Pastime Pool,
<br /> requested that the public hearing be continued to April 21, 1969.
<br /> It was moved by Councilman SpiliotoDoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis
<br />that the public hearing on the adoption of an ordinance regulating Card Rooms,
<br />Card Tables, and the use thereof for Gambling, be continued on April 21, 1969.
<br />The roll call vote was as follows:
<br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton
<br />NOES: None
<br />ABSENT: Councilman Rega

<br /> ADDeol Of the Shell Oil Company, 235 W. MacArthur Blvd., Oakland, from a decision
<br /> of ube Design Review Board in imposing Conditions No. 2 and 16 upo_n the approval
<br /> of a zoning permit for the construction of an automobile service station at 5Z51
<br /> l{39yord Road, and requesting clarification of Conditions No. 21, 23 and 25 of said
<br /> ~onin~ Permit
<br /> Mr. Fales announced that Shell Oil Company has filed a request for continuance
<br /> of this public hearing until May 19, 1969.
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos
<br /> that the public hearing on the appeal of Shell Oil Company be continued on May
<br /> 19, 1969.
<br /> The roll call vote was as follows:
<br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton
<br /> NOES: None
