Mayor Gerton expressed apprecia- <br /> .... tion to Mr. Moore and the Jaycees for this material. <br /> <br /> ~TTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Reid stated that there was noticeable odor from the VCSD Sewer <br /> Plant and the U. S. Army Pond. He requested the City staff to solicit the parti- <br /> cipation of these agencies to alleviate this condition. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid asked Mr. Campbell what the status was on gate crossings on <br /> Southern Pacific crossings in Pleasanton. Mr. Campbell stated Southern Pacific <br /> is now installing a gate crossing on the Ray Street crossing. Councilman Reid <br /> asked that reflector buttons be placed and the painting upgraded until this work <br /> was completed. <br /> <br /> Mayor Gerton stated that he had been requested by the Veterans of Foreign <br /> Wars to proclaim a "Loyalty Day Week" during April 27 through May 3rd, 1969. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Ber~tlis <br /> that the Mayor be authorized to proclaim the week of April 27th through May 3rd, <br /> 1969, as Loyalty Day Week. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> A~ENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> Mayor Gerton recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 12:15 A.M. for the <br />..... ~urpose of considering pending litigation. <br /> <br /> Mayor Gerton reconvened the meeting at 1:10 A.M., whereupon Resolution No. 69-67 <br /> was moved by Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos, seconded by Councilman Beratlis, authoriz- <br /> ing execution of an agreement with the Catholic Church, as recommended by the City <br /> Attorney, which enables City acquisition of approximately 6.618 acres owned by tb~ <br /> Catholic Church as a portion of the Civic Center site, and approximately 1.790 <br /> acres owned by the Catholic Church as a portion of the right-of-way for the <br /> realignment of Bernal, and authorizing dismissal of the pending condemnation <br /> action against the Catholic Church. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYI~S: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> AB~;ENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> ADJOU~dENT <br /> There being no further business at 1:15 A.M., it was moved by Councilman Reid <br /> and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the meeting be adjourned to meet again <br /> in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on April 14, 1969. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> HELEN C.
