AT On EY <br />~r0pos~_d..A~reement with County..Fair Board of Directors Re: City Service Charge on <br />Race Track Admissions <br /> Mr. Hirst requested that this matter be discussed at the meeting of March 31, <br /> 1969. <br /> <br />COM~JNICATIONS <br />From Dr. Howard Lou~ and Mr. Walter Wood requestin~ proclamation Re: Oakland Oaks <br />Week <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />that Mayor Getton be authorized to proclaim the week of March 24, 1969, as "Oak- <br />land Oaks Week". <br />The roll call vote wa~ as. follows: <br />AYES: Counciimen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MAI~ERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Reid reported on his recent trip to Washington, D.C. He made <br />particular reference to his conferring with Congressmen George Miller and Don <br />Edwards, from whom he received favorable indications that Robert Finch, Secretary <br />of Health, Education and Welfare, will sign an order which will enable the State <br />of California to exercise more stringent controls on air pollution which may <br />strengthen Pleasanton's case for exercising its own strong smog controls. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid also requested that Mr. Fales obtain copies of the Alameda <br />County Planning report on the Apperson Ridge. <br /> <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos asked Mr. Fales if anything could be done in Pleasan- <br />ton regarding narcotics as is being accomplished in Ft. Bragg, as illustrated in <br />Life Magazine. Mr. Fales replied that the Police Department will be coming forth <br />with some proposals. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: PENDING LITIGATION <br /> Mr. Fales asked that the Executive Session be postponed. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 12:27 A.M., it was moved by Councilman <br />Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Rega that the meeting be adjourned to meet <br />again in Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on March 31, 1969. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> HELEN C.
