309 <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales stated that both the Progress Report of the Livermore-Amador Valley <br /> Sand and Gravel Study Committee and the Minutes of the Board of Directors of Zone <br /> No. 7 Regular Meeting of February 19, 1969, have been forwarded to the Councilmen. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE ClT~ ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports from the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> From Mrs. Lillian R. Dandini Re: Annexation..of her. property. located on Stanle~ <br /> Blvd. to the City of Pleasanton <br /> Mr. Fales read the report of the Assistant City Manager, dated March 14, 1969, <br /> and reviewed the lease between Messrs. Jeff Bumb and Manuel Daniels and Mrs. <br /> Lillian Dandini regarding the proposed use of the property. <br /> Mr. Fales recommended that the City Council authorize the staff to process this <br /> proposed annexation with the Local Agency Formation Commission but to consider the <br /> proposed land use as a separate matter. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br />that the City staff be authorized to file the proposed annexation of 39 acres of <br />property on Stanley Blvd., owned by the Remillard-Dandini Company, with the Local <br />Agency Formation Commission. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br /> Mayor Getton informed Mr. Bumb to attempt to procure written approval from the <br />Regional Water Quality Control Board, Zone No. 7, and the Pleasanton Township <br />County Water District to use this property as a dump site. <br /> <br />From Pleasanton HousiBg Authority Re: Publication of their Resolution commendin~ <br />Mr. Vic Lund, Sr~_,.Mr~P~t~er.ChristesenLand Mr. Jok~ Edg~_~n~_~K~__for their <br />services to the City <br /> Mr. Fales stated that he has Just received the commemorative service certifi- <br />cates from the printer and requested direction from the Council as to how to <br />proceed to present these documents. <br /> Mr. Fales was instructed to have the certificates for Mr. Lund, Mr. Christesen, <br />Mr. Edgren, Mark Bigger, and any other citizens deserving of such awards prepared <br />and would be advised at a later date regarding the presentation. <br /> <br />From Mr. Lee J. Amaral Re: Pleasanton Garba~e. Service <br /> Mr. Fales stated that Mr. Pietronave's request for increasing garbage rates <br />has previously been presented to the Council but as of now he has not provided <br />sufficient information for the Council to discuss and decide upon this matter. <br /> Mr. Fales was asked to prepare a report on this using the information that he <br />has available. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Beratlis initiated discussion on Alameda County improving Stanley <br />Boulevard to the Livermore City Limits. Mr. Fates explained that it would be more <br />beneficial to have Alameda County place Highway 21 at a high priority because of <br />the proposed shopping center on Foothill Road. <br /> <br /> Councilman Rega asked Mr. Fales to consider the possibility of having an <br />Historical Ordinance which would regulate the preserving of certain old buildings <br />and monuments. Mr. Fales stated he would report on this matter next week. <br /> <br /> Mayor Getton asked Mr. Fales if he would consider having a "Contingency Fund" <br />in the 1969-70 Budget for small miscellaneous projects. Mr. Fales stated that <br />there always has been an undistributed reserve fund in the Budget that can be used. <br /> <br /> Mayor Getton also asked Mr. Fales to prepare a report on the advantages and <br />disadvantages of having a seven-member Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales announced that the City's second HUD Water Grant, in the amount of <br />$66,000.00, has been approved in Washington, D.C. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br /> <br />
