Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Fales directed the City Council's attention to a copy of a letter which <br />was forwarded to them, to the Alameda County Planning Commission, dated March 3, <br />1969, from Livermore City Manager William Parness, regarding the application filed <br />with the County to conduct quarry operations in the Apperson Ridge vicinity of the <br />Sunol sector. <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY. ~TTORNE~ <br /> There were no reports from the City Attorney. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Mr. Fales announced that he had received the following communications: <br /> From Mr. J. J. Amaral, Secretary-Manager of the Chamber of Commerce, regarding <br />the Underground Street Lighting Project along Main Street. <br /> From Mr. Howard W. Neely, Boy Scouts of Pleasanton, thanking the City Council <br />and staff for making it possible for thirteen Boy Scouts to enjoy a civic oppor- <br />tunity. <br /> From Mrs. A. N. Bountis, 1772 Beachwood Drive, regarding "Six Flags7' develop- <br />ment. <br /> A petition from 72 people regarding "Six Flags" development. <br /> From Mrs. A. Thompson, 414 Mavis Drive, regarding "Six Flags" development. <br /> <br /> Mr Fales was asked to acknowledge and file the above communications. <br /> . <br /> <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from Mrs. Wayne White, Camp Fire Girls, requesting <br />that March 23rd through March 29th, be proclaimed as Campfire Girls Birthday Week. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />that the Mayor proclaim the week of March 23rd-29th as "Campfire Girls Birthday <br />Week" in the City of Pleasanton. <br />The roll call vote was,.as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Beratlis stated that he had been requested by the DeMolays to have <br />the week of March 16th-March 23rd proclaimed as International DeMolay Week. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Reid that the <br />Mayor proclaim the week of March 16th-23rd as "International DeMolay Week". <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />~OES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos asked Mr. Fales if awards had been presented to the <br />Amador High School Football Team and to Mark Bigger for his "All American" <br />achievements. Mr. Fales stated he had not been given direction to accomplish <br />this. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />that the City staff prepare an award for Mark Bigger and also for the Amador High <br />School Football Team for their accomplishments in the 1968 Season. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid reported that Alameda County had adopted Ordinance 69-11, <br />amending their ordinance regarding terms, members and alternates of the Alameda <br />County Library Commission and recommended that the City of Pleasanton modify <br />their regulations accordingly. Mr. Fales stated he would report on this matter <br />at the next Council meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid also stated that he would be absent from the next meeting of <br /> ~h~ City Council because of business in Washington, D.C. <br /> <br /> Mayor Getton asked Mr. Fales to place the matter of considering thc appoint- <br />ment of two additional members to the Planning Commission on next week's <br /> <br />~XECUTII~ SESSION: PENDING LITIC~..TION <br /> Mr. Fales stated that this matter is still pending. <br /> <br /> 4. <br /> <br /> <br />
