No. 219 reSardin~ Civil Defense ReSulations <br /> Mr. Hirst explained this amendment to Ordinance No. 219. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br />that Ordinance No. 549, amending Ordinance No. 219, deleting some of the language <br />in Section 9, Punishment of Violations, be introduced. <br />The roll q.~ll vote wa~.as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br />Report Re: Arrangements for March 12th Sacramento Trip <br /> Mr. Hirst stated that arrangements have been made for March 12th for the Counci? <br />to meet with Seantor Clark Bradley and Assemblyman Carlos Bee, for lunch. He also <br />informed the Council that Mr. Tom Willoughby, Administrative Assistant to Assembly- <br />man Jack Knox, who is Chairman of Assembly Committee on Municipal and County Govern, <br />ment, will give a report on the proposed Regional Government Bill and Mr. Bill <br />Holliman, Associate Counsel for the League of California Cities, will attend and <br />be prepared to answer questions on Senate Bill No. 4. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Mr. Fales stated he had received and forwarded copies of the following communi- <br />cations to the City Council: <br />1. From Alameda County Librarian regarding an Information Center for Business and <br /> Government. <br />2. From the City Clerk, City of Fremont, regarding opposing Legislation to in- <br /> crease the maximum allowable weight and width of vehicles using the interstate <br /> system. <br />3. From R. D. Neale, 30 Golf Road, Pleasanton, protesting the "Six Flags" develop- <br /> ment. <br />4. From Mrs. C. T. Pearson, 596 Hamilton Way, Pleasanton, protesting the "Six <br /> Flags" development. <br />5. From Mrs. H. Keith Janes, 1277 Concord Street, Pleasanton, protesting the "Six <br /> Flags" development. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales was asked to acknowledge and file each of these letters, excepting <br />#2, from the City Clerk in Fremont, which he was requested to place back on the <br />agenda after he had checked the provisions of the Bill and had made a recommenda- <br />tion regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales also read a copy of a telegram signed by Mr. J. Jack Bras, Pleasanton <br />Chamber of Commerce President, to the Great Southwest Corporation, endorsing Mayor <br />Gerton's affirmative stand on that Corporation locating in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter from Anita Chaplin, 2352 Redberry Court, Pleasanton, <br /> which stated she favored the "Six Flags" development. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales stated that he would scknowledge and file these communications also. <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITAITED BY COUNCIL MEMBER~ <br /> There were no matters initiated by Councilmen at this meeting. <br /> <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION: PENDING LITIGATION <br /> Mr. Fales stated that the Executive Session has been cancelled. <br /> <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 11:25 P.M., it was moved by Councilman <br /> Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that the meeting be adjourned to <br /> meet again in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on March 10, 1969. <br /> ~be roll call.Vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> HELEN C.
