277 Report Re: Amendment to Ord. No. 219 reSardin~ Civil Defense ReSulations Mr. Hirst explained this amendment to Ordinance No. 219. It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that Ordinance No. 549, amending Ordinance No. 219, deleting some of the language in Section 9, Punishment of Violations, be introduced. The roll q.~ll vote wa~.as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Rega Report Re: Arrangements for March 12th Sacramento Trip Mr. Hirst stated that arrangements have been made for March 12th for the Counci? to meet with Seantor Clark Bradley and Assemblyman Carlos Bee, for lunch. He also informed the Council that Mr. Tom Willoughby, Administrative Assistant to Assembly- man Jack Knox, who is Chairman of Assembly Committee on Municipal and County Govern, ment, will give a report on the proposed Regional Government Bill and Mr. Bill Holliman, Associate Counsel for the League of California Cities, will attend and be prepared to answer questions on Senate Bill No. 4. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Fales stated he had received and forwarded copies of the following communi- cations to the City Council: 1. From Alameda County Librarian regarding an Information Center for Business and Government. 2. From the City Clerk, City of Fremont, regarding opposing Legislation to in- crease the maximum allowable weight and width of vehicles using the interstate system. 3. From R. D. Neale, 30 Golf Road, Pleasanton, protesting the "Six Flags" develop- ment. 4. From Mrs. C. T. Pearson, 596 Hamilton Way, Pleasanton, protesting the "Six Flags" development. 5. From Mrs. H. Keith Janes, 1277 Concord Street, Pleasanton, protesting the "Six Flags" development. Mr. Fales was asked to acknowledge and file each of these letters, excepting #2, from the City Clerk in Fremont, which he was requested to place back on the agenda after he had checked the provisions of the Bill and had made a recommenda- tion regarding this matter. Mr. Fales also read a copy of a telegram signed by Mr. J. Jack Bras, Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce President, to the Great Southwest Corporation, endorsing Mayor Gerton's affirmative stand on that Corporation locating in Pleasanton. Mr. Fales read a letter from Anita Chaplin, 2352 Redberry Court, Pleasanton, which stated she favored the "Six Flags" development. Mr. Fales stated that he would scknowledge and file these communications also. MATTERS INITAITED BY COUNCIL MEMBER~ There were no matters initiated by Councilmen at this meeting. EXECUTIVE SESSION: PENDING LITIGATION Mr. Fales stated that the Executive Session has been cancelled.
