25!5 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> February 24, 1969 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FLAG <br /> Mayor Bernard Getton called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br /> at 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll ~hich is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Nayor Gerton were present. <br /> Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City <br /> Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, were present. Mr. Castro, <br /> Director of Planning, was absent. <br /> <br />L~ AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br />~"~ Councilman Spiliotopoulos requested that the Review of Bids and award of Con- <br />OC tract regarding City vehicles be removed from the Consent Calendar for discussion <br />"'D of the necessity of air conditioning in these City vehicles Mr Fales explained <br />~.~ · . <br />~.~ the critical need for air-conditioning in the police cars. Mr. Edgar reported <br /> that the turn-in value of vehicles with air-conditioning off-set the additional <br /> initial cost. <br /> After some discussion on this matter, it was moved by Councilman Reid and <br /> seconded by Councilman Rega that Resolution No. 69-37, awarding the contract for <br /> two police vehicles, with air-conditioning, to Crown Chevrolet in Dublin for a <br /> total of $3,879.36; awarding the contract for one pickup truck to Crown Chevrolet <br /> in Dublin, for $2~307.32; authorizing the staff to enter into a lease agreement <br /> . for four passenger cars, with air-conditioning, at a monthly charge of $80.85 per <br /> xTehicle, and two semi-emergency police cars, with air-conditioning, at a monthly <br /> charge of $95.55 per vehicle, with John Edgren and Sons, Pleasanton, be adopted. <br /> The rol!..~all V~te was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br /> following items on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br /> 1. Waiving of the reading of Ordinance No. 548, Establishing and posting of <br /> speed limits along Valley Avenue. <br /> <br /> 2. Adoption of Ordinance No. 548. <br /> <br /> 3. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-35, accepting a Grant Easement regarding Lot <br /> No. 58, Tract No. 2639, Fairlands. <br /> <br /> 4. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-36, authorizing the use of a check signer in <br /> lieu of hand-signing City Warrants. <br /> <br /> 5. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-38, approving of an Agreement with Alameda <br /> County regarding temporary transfer of Fire Equipment for City use. <br /> <br /> 6. Adoption of Resolution No, 69-39, authorizing Progress Payment No. 7 (Final) <br /> in the amount of $11,004.30, to Silva's Pipeline, Inc. , for construction on <br /> the West Pleasanton Sewer Project, Assessment District No. 67-1. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NO~S: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> <br />
