2: 91 <br /> <br /> HINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> FebEuary 10, 1969 <br /> <br /> In recognition of Boy Scout Week, Mayor Getton announced that each member of <br /> the Council and City staff has a Scout, acting as their counterpart, sitting be- <br /> side them. Mayor Gerton stated that it is hoped that this experience will give <br /> the Scout an insight into the operations and activities of City Government. <br /> <br /> CALLTO. ORDER -.PLEDGE TO FlAG <br /> Mayor Getton called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M., and asked his Scout <br /> counterpart to lead the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilman Beratlis and Scout Rodhey Johnson, Councilman Rega and Scout Cordon <br />Ports, Councilman Reid and Scout Dave Clark, Councilman Spiliotopoulos and Scout <br />Rodney Noryell, Mayor Getton and Scout David Webb, were present. Mr. Fales, City <br />Manager, and Scout Frank Jensen; Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager; Mr. Hirst, <br />City Attorney, and Scout Randy Henderson; Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, <br />and Scout Mike Jacobs; Mr. Castro Director of Planning, and Scout David Raymond <br />were present. Also present were Mr. Dobbins, Chief Building Inspector, and Scout <br />Robert Perrigo, Fire Chief Scout John Blair, Police Chief Scout Chris Parker, and <br />Director of Recreation Scout Robert Brent. <br /> <br />AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos requested that the Minutes of January 27th, be <br />corrected to include a second to the motion adopting Resolution No. 69-16, and <br />then be replaced on the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that <br /> the following items on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />1. Waiving of the reading of Ordinance No. 546, amending Ordinance No. 520, <br /> Article 8, "I", Industrial Districts, Section 8.106, regarding Underground <br /> Utilities. <br /> <br />2. Adoption of Ordinance No. 546. <br /> <br />3. Waiving of the reading of Ordinance No. 547, amending Ordinance No. 520, <br /> Section 17.105a, Article 17, by adding the words "which is included in the <br /> total sign area allowable for a service station". <br /> <br />4. Adoption of Ordinance No. 547. <br /> <br />5. Approval of the City Council Minutes for the meetings of January 6th, 13th, <br /> and 20th as presented, and for January 27th, as corrected. <br /> <br />6. Approval of the January Claim Warrants in the amount of $46,683.55, and <br /> review of Financial Reports. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />~Dpeal of the Pentecostal Church of Cod, P. O. Box 39~ Pleasanton~_~f[o_~m_an ad- <br />verse decision of the Planning Commission in denyin~ a Conditional Use Permit in <br />order to allow the construction of a church in ap R-~LDistrict on. that property <br /> known as 431Neal StFeet} containing approximately 1.49 acres <br /> Mayor Getton declared the public hearing open. <br /> Mr. Castro presented a map of the location of the subject property. He also <br /> reviewed various communications, both for and against the construction of a church <br /> on this site, staff reports, the minutes of the meeting of the Planning Commission <br /> regarding this matter, and reaffirmed the position of the Commission that the <br /> requested use permit be denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
