<br />'J 4, .["1' <br />t). a <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Pleasanton, California <br />November 10.1969 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FlAG <br />Mayor Bernard Gerton called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br />8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton were present. <br />Mr. Fales. City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager. Mr. Hirst, City <br />Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and Mr. Castro, Director of <br />Planning, were present. Helen McCarty. City Clerk, was absent. <br /> <br />~ <br />,...... AGENDA AMENDMENl'S <br />00 Councilman Rega requested that item Ie' regarding the approval of a payment to <br />'~ Casa Verde Nursery, be removed from the Consent Calendar because of it creating a <br />~ conflict of interest on his part. <br />U <br /> <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Holzer, 4050 Walnut Drive. <br />explaining that the property owners have purposely placed large pieces of cement <br />and rocks on the sides of the Arroyo del Valle to attempt to keep their property <br />from being washed away. <br />Mr. Holzer, who was present at this meeting, asked Mr. Fales what the charges <br />given to the committee to clean up the Arroyo, will be. <br />Mr. Fales replied that Miss Jeannie Haynes and Mr. Bidstrup were to submit the <br />charges to him, but they had not done so in time to be placed on the agenda for <br />this meeting. <br />Mayor Gerton asked Mr. Fales to prepare an outline of these charges for dis- <br />cussion at the Council meeting of November 11, 1969. <br />Mr. Charles Bubics, 4137 Walnut Drive, asked what right anyone had in the creek. <br />He stated that he felt that this was trespassing as the property in the creek be- <br />longed to the property owners who have propfrty adjacent to the Arroyo. <br />Mr. Stanley Rathbone, 325 Ray Street, concurred with Mr. Bubic's remarks. <br />Mr. Bidstrup stated that he had received Bulletin No. 167 regarding Levee <br />Erosion, from the State Fish and Game Department. <br />Mr. Holzer inquired about the liability insurance regarding the people using <br />the creek, as they are on private property. <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos asked Mr. Hirst to check on this insurance matter. <br />Mr. H. J. Deetz stated that he took out additional insurance because of the <br />children playing on his property in the creek. <br />Mr. Fales stated that this matter will be placed on the agenda for November <br />17, 1969, for further discussion. <br /> <br />QONSENT CALENDAR <br />It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />that the following items appearing on the Consent Calendar, be approved. <br /> <br />a. Waiving of the reading of Ordinance No. 584. annexing additional property <br />along the Golden Eagle Annexation, commonly known as Annexation No. 63. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 584. <br /> <br />c. Waiving of the reading of Ordinance No. 585, regarding Uniform Animal Control <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Ordinance No. 585. <br /> <br />f. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-267, authorizing the execution of Pacific Gas <br />and Electric Company Service Agreements for two Arroyo Mocho Storm Pumps. <br /> <br />g. Scheduling of a detailed review of the report of the Planning Commission <br />regarding the application to rezone by amendment to the original P.U.D. from <br />the RM-2500 and R-1-6500 District to the C-F and RM-2000 District, that <br />
