2',(ll MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL Pleasanton, California September 22, 1969 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO &Q Vice-Mayor George Spiliotopoulos called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos were present. Mayor Gerton was absent. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works. and Mr. Castro. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that tbe following item listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: a. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-226, authorizing Progress Payment No. 11. in the amount of $7,981.20, be paid to Western Empire Construction Company for work completed on the Pleasanton Main Fire Station. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Gerton PUBLIC HEARINGS Application of the City of Pleasant on to abandon certain public service easem~~f~ on Lot 130 of Tract No. 2953 adiacent to W. Las positas Blvd. and Hopyard Road Mr. Campbell reported that these easements will not be used by the City be- cause tree planter pockets are to be provided within the sidewalk area. Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos declared the public hearing open. There being no public protest, it was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Reid that the public hearing be closed. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Gerton After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Resolution No. 69-227. approving the application of the City of Pleasanton to abandon certain public service easements on Lot 130, Tract No. 2953, adjacent to West Las positas Boulevard and Hopyard Road, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Gerton ~pplication of Reynold C. Johnson Co., to rezone from the I-G-3ac. Dist.. to the f-G-40,OOO District, that parcel of land described as a portion of Parcel 1-6, Assessor's Map Book 941, Block 1200, a portion of Parcel 2-7, As~essor's Ma~_Book 941. Block 1220, and a portion of Parcel 1-4. Assessor's Map Book 941. Block 1300. and containing approximately 32 acres Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos declared the public hearing open. Mr. Castro reported that the Planning Commission reviewed this application on September 10, 1969, and unanimously approved it. There being no public hearing protest, it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing be closed. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Gerton
