<br />~ <br />~ <br />00 <br />'-:> <br />U <br />U <br /> <br />1~}J <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that <br />Resolution No. 69-216, relieving Deetz Construction Company of their bid, return- <br />ing their bid bond, and authorizing the City officers to award the contract for <br />the construction of tennis courts on the Pleasanton Elementary School grounds to <br />Asphalt Surfacing Company for $13,969.00, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br />There were no matters for the information of the Council. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />There were no reports from the City Attorney scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />There were no communications to be presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilman Reid initiated discussion regarding the enforcement of the leash <br />law. Councilman Reid stated that he had been contacted by a local rancher who <br />reported that some of his lambs had been killed by a dog. Mr. Hirst stated that <br />this matter had been filed in his office. <br /> <br />Councilman Beratlis asked the staff to write a letter citing the occupants at <br />the Pleasant Plaza Shopping Center for the litter between the back of the building <br />and the railroad tracks. <br /> <br />Councilman Beratlis also asked the staff to investigate the advertizing signs <br />that are posted within the City Limits. Mr. Fales stated that he will get the <br />locations and check these out. Councilman Beratlis advised the staff that there <br />was a sign advertizing top soil from a Livermore party on Kottinger Avenue at <br />Amaral Circle. <br /> <br />Councilman Rega asked Mr. Fales when facilities for displaying maps at the <br />Council Chambers were going to be installed. Mr. Fales replied that he will work <br />this out with Judge Gale as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos read a letter from the Oakland Chamber of Commerce <br />requesting that a resolution of commendation for retiring Judge Coakley be adopted. <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Rega that ReRO]utio, <br />No. 69-217, commending retiring District Attorney Coakley. for his se~"ices, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />call vote was as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Rega. <br />None <br />Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br />~ETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />No one addressed the Chair <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos adjourned the meeting to an Executive Session at <br />10: 20 P.M. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos reconvened the meeting at 10:40 P.M. <br /> <br />AD JOURNMENT <br />Trere being no further business at 10:41 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Rega <br />and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the meeting be adjourned to meet again <br />1!l Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on September 15, 1969. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis.
