No. 520, relating to the signing of areas proposed for use as multiE~ <br />~ing developments <br />Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos declared the public hearing, open. <br />Mr. Castro reviewed the amendment to Section l7.l08(d) and stated this amend- <br />ment adding the words "multiple developments" was solely for the purpose of advis- <br />ing the prospective homebuyer as to the location of this particular type of develop- <br />ment. <br />Mr. Hirst indicated that he is still investigating the matter to see if signing <br />of areas to inform prospective homeowners of land uses in developments, can be made <br />manditory. <br />There being no public protests, it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded <br />by Councilman Beratlis, that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Ordi- <br />nance No. 572, amending Section l7.108(d), Article 17, Ordinance No. 520, relating <br />to the signing of areas proposed for use as multiple dwelling developments, be <br />introduced. <br />Jhe roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NO:r.S: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Reid that the <br />reading of Ordinance No. 572. be waived. <br />Ihe roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis. Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />Application of Mackay Homes for an amendment to Ord. No. 520 rezoning from the A <br />District to the C-N, RM-l500. RM-4000 and R-1-6500 Districts, that prop~E~Y located <br />between the Arroyo del Valle and Hansen Drive, west of Valley Avenue, said property <br />being a portion of Tract No. 2905 <br />Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos declared the public hearing, open. <br />Mr. Castro reported that the Planning Commission recommended that the applica- <br />tion of Mackay Homes, Tract No. 2905, be approved with the exception of the neigh- <br />borhood commercial center rezoning. He stated that the Commission recommended that <br />this site remain in the "Ail Agricultural District pending a study by the Planning <br />Department concerning the immediate neighborhood commercial shopping centers as <br />to their location, service areas and acreage size. <br />Mr. Ted Fairfield, representing Mackay Homes, indicated he was in favor of <br />this modification. <br />There being no public protests, it was moved by Councilman Rega and secorded <br />ny Councilman Reid that the public hearing, be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />Councilman Reid expressed concern over the problems that could arise if the <br />~ommercial site was retained in the '~" District and the Planning Department's <br />'> ::udy revealed that this was not a logical site for a commercial center. <br />Mr. Castro described other compatible uses, should this occur. <br />It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that Ordinance <br />'\Jo. 573, amending Ordinance No. 520, rezoning from the Agricultural District to <br />the RM-1500, RM-4000 and R-1-6500 Districts. that property located between the <br />Ancyo del Valle and Hansen Drive, west of Valley Avenue, said property being a <br />portion of Tract No. 2905, be introduced. <br /> <br />3. <br />
